When did you become a member of W.A.R.?

I moved to Fort Smith (was born and raised in Ohio) at the end of January 2012 and became a member in April.

What kind of races do you run?

1 mile, 2 miles, 4 miles, 5ks, 10ks, 20Ks, Half and Full Marathons. Being a part of the Arkansas Grand Prix racing series keeps things interesting when it comes to race distances. I ran my 2nd trail race in July 2013 – Full Moon 25k. I also competed in the 2011 Men’s Health Urbanathlon in Chicago (10 mile endurance race that incorporate city landmarks and urban obstacle courses). I see a Warrior Dash and Color Run in my future.

What was your favorite race and why?

My favorite race was the 2010 Cleveland Marathon because it was the first time I ran 26.2 miles. I had a finishing time of 4 hours 4 minutes. What a great feeling it was to cross the finish line. I will always cherish the finishers medal. I ran it again in 2011 and improved my time by 10 minutes (3 hours 54 minutes).

What interests do you have outside of running?

Mountain Bike riding, having fun with my two children, coaching

Fun Fact (something nobody knows about you):

I was the co-host on a sports TV station covering the Soap Box Derby in Akron, OH (the soapbox car racing program has been run in the United States since 1934). This was my first time on television. I have the DVDs to prove it. What a great experience! Prior to this, I was talking into a microphone at a country radio station.
